How to use tags

Tags are an excellent way to maintain organization within Fetch. They can be applied throughout the application and are particularly valuable for grouping similar contacts or products, as well as for filtering during searches.

Tags are managed by going to your Settings, and choosing Tags.

Tag Categories

Tags in Fetch are grouped into four categories:

  • Contacts: Tags in the “Contacts” category are available for operations involving your contacts.
  • Animals: Tags in the “Animals” category are accessible for operations involving your animals, allowing you to organize them by specific needs (e.g., “separation anxiety” or “group classes”).
  • Resources: Tags in the “Resources” category are used for operations related to Products, Videos, Handouts, and Links, helping you organize these resources into groups.
  • Affiliates: Tags in the “Affiliates” category are used when creating a product and assigning it to an affiliate (e.g., “amazon”). This is useful when you want to search for products listed under a specific affiliate.
Getting Started

To help you get started, Fetch comes preloaded with a few tags:

  • active
  • portal access
  • virtual
  • equipment
  • treats
  • supplements
  • enrichment
  • amazon
System Tags

There are three tags that cannot be deleted, referred to as “System Tags.” They are:

  • “active”: Use this tag for current clients. It is recommended to add this tag to the profile of new clients when they sign up for your service.
  • “portal access”: This tag is automatically assigned to clients who have accepted your portal invitation.
  • “virtual”: Use this tag for your virtual clients. It is recommended to add this tag to the profile of new clients signing up for your virtual service, along with the “active” tag.
Adding Tags
  1. Type your new tag name in the search box and press “Enter” on your keyboard.
  2. Use the filter icon to show or hide the filter categories.
  3. Click on a tag to edit it. You can change the color, update the categories the tag belongs to, and delete it.

Filters
  • Choose a category to view the associated tags.
  • You can select multiple categories to display tags with multiple associations.
  • When you filter by multiple categories, only tags with those specific category combinations will appear.

Example 1: The “active” tag is associated with the “Contacts” category. If you filter by “Resources,” this tag will not appear.

Example 2: The “yeti” tag is associated with both “Resources” and “Affiliates.” It will appear when you search by either “Resources” or “Affiliates.”

Example 3: If you filter by both “Resources” and “Affiliates,” you will see the “yeti” tag, but not tags that only have the “Resource” category and not the “Affiliate” category.
